Red wine stains can be a hassle to remove, but the quicker you act to clean them, the easier it will be. Here are some tips for removing red wine stains from pet beds:

  • First, extract as much of the stain as possible using a vacuum cleaner or a paper towel. It's important to do this before using any cleaning solution.
  • Mix warm water with 1-2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap and a few drops of vinegar, and apply it onto the stained area. Let it sit for up to 10 minutes.
  • Using a clean cloth, gently blot the stained area. Avoid rubbing, as this can spread the stain further.
  • If the stain still remains, mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide with 2 parts water and apply it to the affected area. Blot with a clean cloth right away.
  • Repeat if necessary, then let the area air dry.

It's a good idea to try to test any cleaning solutions on a small, inconspicuous area of the pet bed first to make sure they won't damage it.

If the stain persists, using a carpet cleaning solution specifically designed for pet beds can help. These are available from pet supply stores.

To prevent further staining, consider investing in a pet bed with a removable, washable cover.
