What You'll Need

  • A soft-bristle toothbrush
  • White vinegar
  • Cold water

Step-by-step instructions

  1. First, blot the area with a clean cloth. Be sure not to rub stain or else it will spread.
  2. Mix together one tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of cold water.
  3. Using your soft-bristle toothbrush, apply the mixture to stained area and gently agitate.
  4. Once you are satisfied with the amount of agitation, rinse the area with clean cold water. Repeat as necessary.
  5. When all the red wine stains have been removed, leave the wet fabric to air dry.

Additional Tips

  • Always test a small section of the fabric first to ensure no colour runs and no further damage is done.
  • Use cold water only, and never hot, as this might set the stain.
