Step 1: Blot Red Wine Stain

The first step is to blot up as much of the red wine from the grass as possible. Use a dry towel, paper towels, or a cloth napkin to absorb any remaining liquid from the grass. Don’t rub too hard, as this will cause the stain to spread. Once you have blotted out as much of the red wine as possible, discard the used towels or napkins in garbage.

Step 2: Sprinkle Baking Soda onto the Stain

Once you have removed as much of the red wine as possible, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda onto the stain. The baking soda will act as an absorbent and help draw excess moisture out of the grass. Let the baking soda sit for 30 minutes before proceeding to next step.

Step 3: Rinse with Cold Water

Once the baking soda has had time to sit, rinse the grass with cold water. Be sure to use a sprayer or hose nozzle and gently spray the grass until the water runs clear. After rinsing off the grass, take a look and see if the stain still remains. If so, proceed to next step.

Step 4: Apply a Mixture of Vinegar & Detergent

In a bowl, mix together one part white vinegar, two parts detergent and a few drops of food coloring. Pour the mixture onto the red wine stain and let it sit for 20 minutes. After the mixture has had time to set, take a scrub brush and gently scrub the grass in a circular motion. This will help break up the stain and loosen any residue that may still be clinging to the grass.

Step 5: Rinse the Grass with Warm Water

After you have scrubbed the stain, rinse the grass with warm water until the water runs clear. This will help remove any remaining residues from the grass and restore it back to its former glory.

Step 6: Mow the Grass

remove any remaining grass clippings from the lawn and mow the grass with a lawnmower. This will help blend the area where the red wine stain once resided.
