The Basic Steps for Removing Red Wine Stain from Clothing
- The most important step is to act fast. Immediately spray cold water on the stained area or dab it with a cloth, being careful not to spread stain out.
- Once you’ve soaked as much of the red wine as you can, pour salt on the entire spot and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- After this, rinse the fabric with cold water and dab it with a damp cloth to remove any remaining wine.
- If stain persists, mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with one cup of warm water and soak the stained area for 15-30 minutes.
- Then, rub some liquid soap onto the stained area and wash the piece of clothing according to its specific instructions.
- Once it is done washing, check if the red wine stain has been successfully removed. If not, repeat steps 4 and 5.
- Finally, hang the piece of clothing up to air dry.
Tips on Avoiding Red Wine Stains
