Step 1: Wipe the Excess Stain

Before tackling the stain, it is important to wipe away any excess liquid on the surface. Ensure that you use a paper towel to do this, as a cloth or sponge may spread the stain further and make it harder to remove. Do not rub the fabric with the paper. Instead, blot at stain gently until all of the excess liquid has been wiped away.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Once the excess liquid has been removed, the next step is to apply detergent. Be sure to use an enzyme-based detergent if possible. Put a few drops of detergent onto the stained area, then gently work the solution into the fabric using a soft cloth.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

After you’ve worked the solution in, let the detergent sit for a few minutes before rinsing the affected area with water. Double check that all remaining traces of detergent are gone. Once your headphones are dry, they should be free of residues and stains.
