The first step is to quickly remove as much of the spilled red wine as possible. Get a rag or sponge and blot at the stain to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. This can often prevent the stain from setting in and becoming more complicated to remove.

Once you have removed as much as you can of the spilled wine, it’s time to tackle the stain itself. Take two tablespoons of white vinegar, two tablespoons of liquid dish soap and six tablespoons of cold water. Mix together in a bowl, stirring until combined. Dab a small amount of the mixture onto the stained area. Be careful not to rub the solution into the fabric too much, as this can spread the stain out and make it harder to remove.

Let the solution sit for five minutes. Then rinse the area with cold water and check to see if the stain has been removed. If it is still there, repeat process as necessary.

If the stain persists, don’t worry! You can still use a bleaching agent like hydrogen peroxide to remove the stain. Mix one teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide with two tablespoons of cold water and dab the solution onto the stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water. Check to see if the stain has been removed. If it’s still there, repeat the process as necessary.

And that’s it! Your Fred Perry clothing should now be free of any red wine stains. With these simple steps, you should never have to worry about spilling your favorite drink on your favorite clothing again.
