How to Easily Remove Red Wine Stains from Draperies and Curtains

Sometimes, accidents happen. Red wine stains on drapes and curtains can be one of the more difficult stains to remove. Here are some steps that you can take to remove red wine stains from draperies and curtains.

The first step to removing red wine stains is to act quickly. If you can get to the stain right away, it’s much easier to remove than if you wait. The longer stain sits, harder it is to get out. You may also have to treat a few times in order to fully remove stain.

Once you’ve located stain, use a spot remover or rubbing alcohol to pre-treat the area. Alternatively, you could try using white vinegar or a specially designed color-safe stain remover. Both should be applied directly to the stain, allowed to sit for a few minutes, and then blotted up with a white cloth. If stain persists, you may need to repeat this process a few times before the stain is gone.

With some patience and persistence, red wine stains on draperies and curtains can usually be removed. Just remember to act quickly when dealing with stains and to use the right techniques for removing them.
