How to Easily Clean Red Wine Stains from Your Crop Top

Red wine stains on your crop top can easily ruin the look of your favorite outfit. But with some simple household products, you can get rid of them in a few steps. Here is how to clean red wine stains from your crop top.

Instructions

  1. As soon as possible, rinse the stain with cold water.
  2. Create a cleaning solution using one tablespoon of dishwashing detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar mixed with two cups of warm water.
  3. With a white cloth or sponge, dab the solution onto the stain.
  4. Allow the solution to sit on stain for five minutes.
  5. Rinse the area well with water.
  6. If the stain remains, mix one teaspoon of ammonia with one cup of warm water.
  7. With a white cloth or sponge, dab the ammonia solution onto the stain.
  8. Let the ammonia solution sit for 10 minutes.
  9. Rinse the area well with water.
  10. If the stain remains, repeat steps 3-9.
  11. Finally, launder the crop top according to manufacturer's instructions.

Tips

  • Always use white cloths when cleaning wine stains - colorful cloths cannot be fully bleached and may cause the stain to transfer onto the fabric after time.
  • After laundering your crop top, inspect it to make sure the stain is gone before placing it in the dryer.
  • If the stain persists, blot it with rubbing alcohol.

Warnings

  • Do not combine ammonia and bleach when cleaning.
  • Do not use colored cloths when cleaning wine stains. The color can transfer onto the fabric and cause stain to become permanent.
