Red wine is one of the most difficult stains to remove from clothing. But, with right tools and techniques, it can be done. When spilled on cotton voile, it’s important to act fast to avoid stain setting permanently. Here are a few tips to help you get the stain out:

  • Start by blotting stain gently with a paper towel or cloth. Do not rub, as this may spread stain further into fabric.
  • Mix a solution of warm water and gentle laundry detergent in a container. Dip a white cloth into the mixture and gently dab the stain. Test this on a small area of the fabric first to ensure that the detergent won’t damage material.
  • If the stain persists, use a clean cloth to dab area with rubbing alcohol. Be sure to use the same dabbing motion, never rub.
  • Once stain has been removed, rinse the fabric with cold water and make sure all soap residue has been washed away. If necessary, repeat the above steps until the stain is completely removed.
  • Finally, let the fabric air dry. Avoid using a heat source, as this could set stain.

It's important to remember that white fabrics should always be tested with a colorfast solution before proceeding with cleaning. If you’re dealing with a stubborn stain or a delicate fabric, it’s best to call in the professionals for help with stain removal.
