What You'll Need

  • White Vinegar
  • Salt
  • Bowl
  • Sponge or cloth
  • Dish Detergent
  • Cold Water

Step 1: Soak the Stained Area with White Vinegar and Salt

Pour white vinegar and a generous amount of salt into a bowl. The salt acts as a gentle abrasive and helps to break down the stain without causing too much damage to the fibers of the cotton lawn material. Mix together with a spoon until salt is fully dissolved. Then, submerge the stained area into the salty vinegar solution.

Allow the stained area to soak in the solution for 30 minutes. Then, rinse the fabric with cold water. If the stain is still visible, move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Scrub the Stain with Dish Detergent and Sponge

Create a mixture of dish detergent and cold water in a bowl. Dip a sponge into the mixture and gently scrub the stained area of the fabric. Be sure to use a gentle motion to avoid damaging the delicate threads in your cotton lawn garment.

Continue scrubbing for several minutes. Then, rinse the fabric with cold water. If the stain is still visible, move on to Step 3.

Step 3: Repeat Steps 1 and 2

If the stain is still visible after completing Steps 1 and 2, then it's time to repeat process again. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until stain is no longer visible.
