Laundry Detergent Method

This method is simple, cost-efficient, and effective in removing red wine from cotton denim. To begin, fill a sink with cold water and add one tablespoon of laundry detergent for each liter of water. Use a gentle detergent such as Woolite, Dawn, or Ivory. Next, soak the stained area in the soapy water for 10-15 minutes. Finally, rinse the clothing thoroughly with cold water before putting it into the washing machine.

White Vinegar Method

Using white vinegar to remove a red wine stain is another effective method. Begin by pouring one cup of white vinegar over the stained area and letting it sit for approximately 15 minutes. Then, rinse the clothing with cold water. Finally, wash the clothing as normal in the washing machine.

Baking Soda Method

For this method, create a paste using one part baking soda and two parts white vinegar. Apply the paste directly to stained area, and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it with cold water. Finally, wash the clothing as normal in the washing machine.

Additional Tips

  • Always use cold water when attempting to remove a red wine stain.
  • Blot the stained area with a cloth or paper towel immediately after spilling the wine.
  • Be sure to read the care instructions on your clothing before attempting any of these cleaning methods.
