The most important step when it comes to removing any kind of stain is to act quickly. As soon as you notice the stain, grab a clean cloth or paper towel and start blotting stain to absorb as much liquid as possible.
Once you've blotted the stain, mix a few drops of dish detergent and some warm water in a small bowl. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and gently dab stained area. You may need to repeat this process several times to lift the stain.
Once you've removed as much of the stain as possible, rinse the fabric in cold water and then lay it on a clean towel to air dry.
If you still see the stain after rinsing, try using white vinegar to remove remaining residue. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, dip a cloth in the solution, and gently dab the stain. Leave the fabric to soak for 15-30 minutes before rinsing with cold water and allowing it to air dry.
Club soda is a great stain remover for corduroy. If you don't have any white vinegar on hand, try spraying the affected area with club soda and letting it sit for 10-15 minutes before blotting with a clean dry cloth.
Red wine stains on corduroy can be a pain to deal with, but with a little patience and the right technique, you can easily remove them and restore your beloved corduroy to its original splendor. Keep these easy steps in mind and hopefully you won't have to worry about spilling red wine on your clothes ever again!
