You Will Need

  • Cold water , for soaking and for rinsing.
  • A cotton towel , for absorbing the stains.
  • White vinegar , for treating the fabric.

Step by Step Instructions

  1. As soon as possible, rinse the affected area with cold water. Try to flush out as much of the red wine as you can before it stains the fabric too much.
  2. Once you have rinsed out the stain, soak a cotton towel in cold water, then press it gently to the affected area. The cotton material will help to absorb the spilled liquid.
  3. Next, leave the towel on the stain until it has completely soaked up all liquid. Once it has dried, remove the towel and apply a few drops of white vinegar on the stain.
  4. Finally, place a dry cotton towel on top of the stain and press firmly to help absorb the vinegar. Leave towel on stain for at least 10 minutes before removing it.
  5. Once the fabric has dried completely, use a clean cloth to brush off any residual vinegar from the fabric. You should now be stain free!

Notes

  • Be sure to use cold water for rinsing and soaking, as hot water can set stain further into the fabric.
  • Always test the vinegar on a small area of the fabric before applying it to the entire stain.
