Removing Red Wine Stains from Chinos
If you’ve accidentally spilled red wine on your chinos, don’t panic - you can get rid of the stain quickly and easily if you act fast. Here are the steps you should take:
- Gently blot the stain with a paper towel or cloth to soak up as much of moisture as possible.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid with 2 cups of cold water, and stir gently to combine.
- Using a clean cloth, gently dab the solution onto the stained area. Be careful not to scrub the fabric, as this could damage material.
- Rinse the stained area with cold water, and repeat until stain is no longer visible.
- Let the chinos air dry thoroughly before wearing them again.
Additional Tips
- For tougher stains, it may be best to take your chinos to a dry cleaner.
- If you don’t have dishwashing liquid, white vinegar or club soda can also work.
- If possible, always test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first.
- Be sure to follow the care instructions on the tag of your chinos.
