Before proceeding, please note that the treatment will depend on the type of fabric the lace is made of. Some fabrics require special treatments or dry cleaning only. Check the garment's tag to make sure.

What You'll Need:

  • White vinegar or lemon juice (1/2 cup)
  • Baking soda (1 tablespoon)
  • Mild detergent (a teaspoon)
  • Scrub brush or toothbrush
  • Clean towel

Instructions:

  1. Mix the vinegar or lemon juice, baking soda, and mild detergent together in a bowl.
  2. Dip the scrub brush or toothbrush in the solution and apply it to the spot.
  3. Gently scrub stained area until the stain begins to fade.
  4. Rinse the stained area with cold water, then gently pat it dry with a clean towel.
  5. If the stain is still visible, repeat the process until it is completely gone.

Tips:

  • Always test the solution on a discreet area before applying it directly to stain.
  • As soon as you realize that the dress has been stained with red wine, act quickly. The sooner you treat the stain, the better chance you have of removing it.
  • Do not rub the stain vigorously, as this may damage the fabric.
