Steps for Cleaning Red Wine Stains from Cashmere
- Dab the stain gently with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any excess liquid.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water in a bowl.
- Soak a clean cloth or cotton ball in the mixture.
- Gently rub the stained area with the cloth or cotton ball.
- If the stain persists, make a paste of laundry detergent, oxygen-based bleach and cold water. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 1-2 hours.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
- Mix salt with cold water, dip a damp cloth in the mixture, and dab the stained area. (This helps to absorb the remaining wine and helps to lift the stain).
- Rinse the sweater with cold water and lay it flat in an open area to dry.
