Step 1: Blot the Stain Immediately

The first step is to act fast! Use a cloth or kitchen towel to gently blot the stained area of lace. This will help prevent the stain from spreading and material from absorbing too much of the wine.

Step 2: Mix a Simple Solution

Once you’ve blotted up as much of the liquid as possible, mix together a simple solution of one teaspoon of baking soda with one cup of warm water. Using a soft cloth or sponge, gently apply the solution to the stained area. Leave the solution on for several minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 3: Use White Vinegar

If stain is still visible after using baking soda mixture, use a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water to help lift the stain. Again, use a soft cloth or sponge and leave the solution on for several minutes before rinsing with cold water. Once you’re finished, lay the fabric flat on a towel and let it air dry.
