The first step is to blot the stain with a cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the wine as possible. Don’t rub or scrub the stain – this can cause it to spread.
Mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water together in a bowl or container. You should have enough to cover the entire stain.
Submerge the stained area of the belt in the white vinegar and warm water mixture and let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
Using a soft-bristled brush, gently scrub away the stain in circular motions. Be sure to rinse the brush off often so that the residue does not spread.
Once the stain is gone, lay the belt flat on a clean towel in a dry, well-ventilated area to dry. Once dry, the belt is ready to wear again.
