Start by blotting stained area with a clean, white cloth. Always start with the least invasive cleaning method first. Try not to rub the stain too much, as this could cause the fabric to fray and spread the stain further.
Mix together a tablespoon of baking soda with a tablespoon of lukewarm water. Make sure the mixture is not too runny or too thick. The paste should be thick enough to stick to the stained area.
Apply the mixture to the stained area, making sure to cover it completely. Let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes before moving on to the next step.
Rinse the paste off with cold water. Make sure to dab the area with a clean, white cloth to absorb any excess moisture.
For a more thorough clean, mix up a solution of one tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent and a cup of cold water. Submerge the stained area and gently rub the solution into the fabric. Let the garment soak in the solution for 15 minutes before moving on.
Remove garment from the detergent solution, and rinse thoroughly with cold water. Blot the area dry with a clean, white cloth. If the stain has been successfully removed, proceed to wash your clothing as you usually would.
