The first step to getting rid of those pesky pet stains is to absorb as much of the excess moisture as possible. Take a paper towel or a cotton cloth and gently press down on the stained area to blot the liquid up. Make sure you don’t rub the stain as this can spread it further and make it more difficult to remove.
Mix one tablespoon of mild detergent, such as dish soap, with one cup of cold water. Using a clean cloth, dab the detergent solution onto the stained area until the entire area is damp. Let the solution sit for a few minutes and then rinse stain with cold water. Repeat this process until the stain is no longer visible.
Once you’ve removed as much of the stain as possible with the detergent solution, you may want to use a stain remover to eliminate any lingering residue. There are many commercial stain removers available, or you can make your own using white vinegar and cold water. Apply the stain remover directly to stain and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then, rinse with cold water and repeat if necessary.
Taking the time to clean pet stains from your wrap dress will help prolong its life and keep it looking good. Taking action quickly is key to making sure stain doesn’t set in and become more difficult to remove. With just a few easy steps and some elbow grease, you can get those pet stains out in no time!
