One of the oldest methods for cleaning pet stains from carpets is to combine equal parts white vinegar and baking soda. Start by blotting up any excess liquid from the stain with a towel or cloth. Then, mix a solution of equal parts vinegar and baking soda and apply it directly to the stain. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes before blotting it up with a dry cloth.
Dish soap is an effective and gentle way to clean pet stains from wool carpets. Start by blotting up as much of the liquid from stain as possible, then liberally sprinkle some dish soap on the affected area. Let soap sit for at least 15 minutes before scrubbing area with a damp cloth or sponge. After scrubbing, use a wet/dry vacuum to thoroughly clean the area.
If the stain is particularly tough and won't come out with the methods above, consider using a carpet cleaning machine. These machines are designed to deep clean carpets and remove any residue from pet stains. Make sure to use a cleaning solution specifically designed for woollen carpets. Follow the instructions for the machine and then use a wet/dry vacuum to thoroughly clean the area after finishing.
