As soon as the pet stain appears, take some absorbent cloth or paper towels and blot the spot to soak up as much of it as possible. This is a crucial step as it helps prevent the stain from soaking into the fabric further. So act quickly!
Mix a small amount of cold water and a few drops of mild detergent, then apply it directly to the pet stain using a spray bottle or a clean cloth. Let it sit for about five minutes, before using a damp cloth to gently remove the affected area.
After you've finished cleaning the affected area, rinse off the detergent with cold water. You can do this by using a damp cloth, or simply by running the fabric under cold water. This step removes any residue from the detergent and helps the fabric dry faster.
Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water and use this solution to treat the spot. This helps remove any remaining odor and makes sure the pet stain won't reappear. Simply apply the solution to the affected area and let it sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing it off.
Once you’ve completed all the steps, leave the fabric to air dry. Do not use a hairdryer or any other type of heat to dry the fabric as this could set the stain, causing it to become more difficult to remove.
If pet stain persists, repeat the steps above until it has been completely removed. It may take a few tries before it is successfully taken care of, but with patience and perseverance you can get rid of it once and for all!
