Using a dry rag or sponge, blot up as much of the stain as possible. Be careful not to rub the fabric as this may cause it to fray or damage the delicate lace.
Rinse the area with cold water. Spot treat any remaining stain by dampening the rag or sponge with cold water, working in a circular motion.
Mix a solution of mild detergent or dish soap with cold water and apply it to the stain using the rag or sponge. Gently work the soap into the fabric using a circular motion.
Rinse the area with cold water again, being sure to rinse off all traces of soap.
Mix a solution of equal parts vinegar and cold water and apply it to the stained area. Work it into the fabric using a circular motion.
Allow the vinegar solution to sit on the stain for 10 minutes so that it has a chance to penetrate the fabric and break down the stain.
Create a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to the stained area. Using an old toothbrush, work it into the fabric in a circular motion.
Rinse the area with cold water one last time, then dry the fabric with a clean cloth.
