The first step in how to get pet stains off tussah is to remove any excess material such as fur, feces, or vomit. Use a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery attachment to gently suction away the material. If you cannot utilize a vacuum, use paper towels to absorb the stain. It is important to use either method to remove as much of the stain as possible.
Once you have removed the excess material, create a cleaning solution by combining equal parts of white vinegar and warm water. Dip a cloth or sponge in the solution and then wring it out until it is damp. Do not use too much liquid as this may damage your tussah fabric.
With the cloth or sponge damp, begin scrubbing at the pet stain on tussah fabric. Work solution in, making sure to work it into all sides of the stain. Keep scrubbing the stain until the pet stain is gone. If the stain is still present, repeat the process with a new cloth or sponge.
Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with lukewarm water. This will help remove any remaining residue and ensure that the cleaning solution does not cause damage to the tussah fabric. Finally, allow the area to air dry completely before using the fabric again.
One of the best ways to prevent pet stains from returning to your tussah fabric is by regularly vacuuming area. This will help keep any dirt and pet hair from settling into the fabric and creating unsightly and hard-to-remove stains.
