Step 1: Blot the Stain

The key to removing pet stains from t-shirts is to work quickly before the stain has had a chance to set in. As soon as possible after the accident, start by blotting the soiled area with a dry paper towel or cloth. This will help to absorb moisture and reduce the amount of material that needs to be removed.

Step 2: Prep Your Cleaning Solution

While there are many products available specifically for pet stain removal, a good at-home solution can be made using just a few household items. Fill a spray bottle with warm water and add one tablespoon of liquid dish detergent. Shake the bottle well to mix. If you have white shirts, you can also add one cup of white vinegar to this mixture for added cleaning power.

Step 3: Spray the Stain

Spray the mixture directly onto the stain, making sure to cover it completely. Let the solution sit on the fabric for five minutes before moving on to the next step.

Step 4: Scrub the Stain Away

Using a clean cloth, gently scrub the stain until fabric looks noticeably cleaner. If the stain persists, repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed. Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with cool water.

Step 5: Launder the Shirt

Finally, launder shirt according to the manufacturer's instructions. You may wish to add a bit of vinegar or baking soda to wash cycle for extra stain-removing power. Hang or lay flat to dry. If the stain is still present after laundering, repeat steps 2 through 5 as needed.
