First of all, it's important to act fast. If the stain isn't fresh and has been allowed to sit any length of time, you may not be able to remove it. If it is fresh, here are the steps you need to take:
- Begin by gently dabbing stain with a damp cloth. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing as this could push the fibers further down into the material, making the stain more difficult or even impossible to remove.
- If the stain is stubborn, use a light stain remover or detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics.
- Follow the instructions on the product you choose, making sure to carefully test it in an inconspicuous area of your swimwear first to make sure it won't damage or discolor the fabric.
- Once you have applied the product (and before you rinse it off), let it sit for 15 minutes or so to allow it to work its magic.
- Rinse off gently with cold water. Avoid anything too harsh – no scrubbing, please!
- If the stain persists, repeat the process until satisfied.
- Finally, hang the swimwear up to air-dry.
By following these simple steps, you'll have your wonderfully clean swim trunks back in no time. Good luck!
