Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

You’ll need a few things before you get started. First, you’ll need a bucket full of warm water. Next, grab a sponge or clean cloth. For the cleaning solution, mix together a teaspoon of mild laundry detergent, a quarter cup of white vinegar, and a quarter cup of baking soda. Have a small bowl of clean water nearby and an absorbent towel for drying.

Step 2: Remove Excess Waste & Dried Stains

To start, remove as much of the pet waste as possible by gently rubbing with a tissue or glove. Don’t rub hard or you may spread stain further. Next, use the sponge to dab warm water on the area, then immediately blot it up with the absorbent towel. Repeat until all dried stains are gone.

Step 3: Apply the Cleaning Solution

Use the sponge or cloth to apply the cleaning solution to area, scrubbing gently to remove the stain. Don’t rub too hard or you may cause the stain to set in deeper. Let the solution sit on the stain for a few minutes before lifting the fabric to check.

Step 4: Rinse the Area

Dip the sponge in the bowl of clean water and rinse away the solution by slowly dabbing the area. Repeat this a few times until all the solution has been removed. Blot the area dry with another absorbent towel.

Step 5: Let Air Dry

Once the area is rinsed and blotted, let it air dry. If the stain persists, repeat steps 3 and 4 until the stain is gone. Once the area is completely dry, you’re all done!
