Removing Urine Stains from Your Sleepwear

If your pet has accidently peed on your sleepwear, the first step is to quickly rinse the area with cold water. This will help dilute the stain and stop it from setting in. Next, create a solution of 2 parts warm water to 1 part white vinegar and apply it to the affected area. Leave the solution on the sleepwear for 10 minutes before washing it as normal. The combination of the vinegar and washing machine should be enough to remove the stain.

Removing Vomit or Feces Stains

If your pet has left vomit or feces stains on your sleepwear then thankfully it’s still possible to salvage the clothing. Start by scraping off any solid residue from the fabric. Then, use a sponge or cloth soaked in cool water to dab the area gently. This will remove the majority of the liquid and stop it from spreading. Next, create a mixture of laundry detergent and water, making sure it’s not too soapy and apply this to the stained area. Then, place the clothing in the washing machine and wash as normal. The detergent should be enough to break down and remove the proteins that cause nasty odors.

Getting Rid of Pet Smell

Often, the toughest challenge when dealing with pet stains is lingering odor. This can be especially frustrating if the stain was caused by vomit or feces. To combat pet odors, use a solution of 1 cup of baking soda or 1/2 cup of white vinegar dissolved in 1 gallon of warm water. Apply this solution to the affected area and leave it to soak for at least 5 minutes or up to 30 minutes for more stubborn odors. After soaking, wash sleepwear as normal. Repeat this process if necessary until the pet odor has gone.

Conclusion

By following the steps above you should be able to tackle pet stains on your sleepwear with ease. Don’t let those stubborn stains put a damper on your sleepwear. With a little bit of effort and the right solution, you can have your sleepwear looking and smelling as good as new.
