Silk taffeta is a delicate fabric that is prone to staining from our four-legged friends. But have no fear! With the right process and supplies, you can easily clean those pet stains from your precious silk taffeta. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A damp cloth
  • A dry cloth
  • Mild detergent
  • Water
  • White vinegar
  • Hairdryer

The first step is to blot up as much of the stain as you can using the damp cloth. You don't want to rub the stain into the fabric. This will only spread it. Next, make a mixture of the detergent, water and white vinegar and lightly dab it onto the stained area. It's important to only use a light amount of the cleaning liquid, as to avoid saturating the fabric.

Let the cleaning liquid sit on stain for about five minutes. Then use a dry cloth to wipe away the cleaning liquid. You may also use a hairdryer to help lift the stain out of the fabric. Remember to hold the hairdryer about 12 inches away from the affected area and move it in a circular motion.

Once the stain has been removed, dampen another cloth with just water and use it to rinse the area. Finally, use a dry cloth to remove any leftover moisture.

By following these simple steps, you can restore your silk taffeta back to its original beauty!
