Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain With a Solution of White Vinegar

Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl or cup. Dip a clean white cloth in the solution and use it to blot stain. Don't rub the stain, as that could spread it to other areas of your fabric. Allow the vinegar solution to sit for about 15 minutes, then blot with a dry cloth to absorb any remaining moisture.

Step 2: Apply Ammonia

If the stain is still present after pre-treating with the vinegar solution, you can try to use ammonia to remove it. Pour a small amount of ammonia onto a clean white cloth and use it to dab stain. If you have a detergent specifically made for washing silk, you can mix a few drops of the detergent in with the ammonia before applying it to the stain. Let ammonia and detergent mixture sit on the stain for around 15 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse with Cool Water

After ammonia and detergent mixture has been allowed to sit on the stain, rinse with cool water to remove any remaining residue. You may need to use a damp cloth to help rinse away any stubborn pieces of the stain.

Step 4: Apply Rubbing Alcohol

If stain is still present after rinsing with cool water, you can try to use rubbing alcohol to remove it. Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto a clean white cloth and use it to dab the stain. Be sure to test the rubbing alcohol on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric to make sure it won't cause discoloration.

Step 5: Apply a Cleaning Solution

If the stain is still present after using rubbing alcohol, you can try to use a cleaning solution made especially for silk. Follow the directions on the package and apply the solution directly to the stain. Allow the cleaning solution to sit for the recommended amount of time, then rinse with cool water.

Step 6: Wash the Garment in Cold Water

After pre-treating the stain and rinsing with cool water, you can wash the garment in cold water in the washing machine. Use a gentle cycle, as any agitation could damage delicate fabric. Hang or lay flat to dry afterwards.

Step 7: Repeat if Needed

If the stain is still present after washing in washing machine, you can repeat steps 1-6 until the stain is gone. Be sure to spot test any solutions you use on your garment to make sure there won't be any discoloration.
