What You'll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Baking soda
  • A Toothbrush
  • An Old Towel

Step 1: Blotting the Stain

The first step to getting rid of the stain is to blot it. Place a towel directly in front of stain and press gently to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Avoid rubbing stain as this will only make it worse.

Step 2: Pre-Treatment

In a bowl, mix a quarter cup of white vinegar, one tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent, and one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide. Use a toothbrush to gently scrub the stain with the mixture for a few minutes. After scrubbing, allow the pre-treatment to sit for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Applying Baking Soda

Once the pre-treatment has set, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda onto the stained area. Allow it to sit for another 10-15 minutes.

Step 4: Washing

After allowing the baking soda to set, machine wash the sarong according to the care instructions. If you’re washing by hand, soak the sarong in a mixture of water and detergent for 30 minutes before rinsing it out.

Step 5: Drying

Finally, allow the sarong to air dry or tumble dry on low heat if you prefer.

Conclusion

These steps should help get rid of pet stains from your sarong, but if the stain persists, it may be best to take it to a professional cleaner. Keeping a regular cleaning routine for your sarong will also help keep it looking good for longer.
