The first step to removing pet stains from robes is to pre-treat the stain with a gentle spot cleaner. Select a spot cleaner that has a pH balanced formula that is safe for delicate materials. Once you’ve sprayed the stain, use a wash cloth or microfiber cloth to gently rub away the stain. Be sure to avoid rubbing too hard as this may cause further damage to the delicate fabric.
Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, submerge the robe in a bucket of cold water mixed with a gentle detergent. Let the robe soak overnight, or at least 8 hours. This will help to break down stain and make it easier to remove. Be sure to use a detergent made specifically for delicate fabrics.
After soaking robe, give it a good rinse with cold water until the water runs clear. Then, place the robe in the washing machine and run on the delicate cycle with cold water and a gentle detergent. Hang the robe to dry or use a low heat setting on dryer. Avoid using high temperatures, as this may cause stain to set in.
