The first step is to pre-treat the stains. Use a laundry pre-treatment product, like a laundry spot remover or an enzyme stain remover. Follow the instructions on the package, and let sit for the amount of time recommended. This will help break up the stain and make it easier to clean.
Once the pre-treatment has been applied, it’s time to wash the rash guard. Place it in your washing machine with your usual detergent and wash on hottest water setting that’s safe for fabric. This will help remove any remaining residue from pre-treatment.
After the wash cycle is complete, put the rash guard in the dryer on low heat setting. Repeating the drying cycle several times can help ensure that all of the pet stains are removed.
Once the rash guard is dried, inspect it for any remaining stains. If needed, repeat pre-treatment and washing process. Also, consider using an oxygen bleach to help lift stubborn stains.
