One of the most important steps in removing pet stains from raincoats is to remove any excess liquid or moisture from the fabric. To start, use a cotton rag to gently blot the stain so that it does not spread or worsen. Make sure you do this as soon as possible after the accident so that the stain does not set deep into the fabric.
Once the stain has been blotted and is dry, create a cleaning solution using mild detergent and warm water. Do not use chlorine bleach or other harsh chemicals as these may cause the fabric to discolor or weaken.
If the stain is tough or slow to come off with just the solution, then you can also use a brush to gently scrub the stain. Again, make sure you are using gentle movements and not harsh scrubbing. You don't want to damage the fabric of raincoat.
Once you have finished scrubbing, rinse the area with clean water and then pat dry with a cloth. Again, make sure you do this as soon as possible to reduce potential for staining.
For best results, hang the raincoat in a well-ventilated area and allow it to air dry completely. Do not dry it in direct sunlight as this could discolor or damage the fabric.
