The first step in removing pet stains from your pullover is to pre-treat the stain. Whether the stain is old or new, start by blending together a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid and two cups of warm water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture, then blot at the stained area to remove as much of the stain as possible.
Once you have pre-treated the stain, it's time to soak the pullover. Fill a sink or bucket with lukewarm water, then add a small amount of gentle laundry detergent. Place the pullover in the soapy water and let it soak for at least 30 minutes. After the pullover has been soaking, check it carefully for any remaining stains. If any remain, repeat Step 1 before proceeding to Step 3.
Once all of the stains have been removed, it is time to put the pullover in washing machine. Wash pullover using the delicate cycle and cold water. Once the pullover has been washed, it is important to dry it properly. Try to avoid using the dryer, as high temperatures can cause shrinkage or damage to fabric. Instead, hang the pullover somewhere to air dry.
With these simple steps, you can easily remove pet stains from your pullover. Be sure to always use a mild detergent and cold water when washing and drying, as this will help keep the fabric looking like new for longer.
