Try to blot the stain as soon as possible after it occurs. This can help prevent a stubborn stain from setting in. Take a clean cloth and gently blot away any excess urine or liquid.
Mix a mild detergent with lukewarm water (unless the instructions on the label specify a different temperature). Take a clean cloth and lightly spritz the mixture onto the stained area. Gently rub the cloth into the stain until it's mostly removed. You may need to repeat the process a few times.
Rinse the area with clean cold water, then allow it to air dry. If any residue remains, use a small brush to lightly scrub away at it.
If the stained area has dried, you can try using vinegar to remove it. Simply fill a spray bottle with equal parts white vinegar and lukewarm water. Spray the stain and let it sit for a few minutes.
Once vinegar has had time to work its magic, take a clean cloth and gently blot area. Rinse area with cold water and then allow it to air dry.
Baking soda can also be used to remove pet stains from ponchos. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda onto the stained area and allow it to sit for several minutes. The baking soda will help absorb stain and make it easier to remove.
Gently rub baking soda into the stain using a clean cloth. Rinse off area with cold water and then allow it to air dry.
