Step 1: Blot the Stain

Grab an absorbent cloth or paper towel and press it over the stain. Keep pressing until stain is no longer visible. If the stain persists, make sure to soak up as much liquid as possible.

Step 2: Vinegar Solution

Mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Apply solution to stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. Dab solution around the stained area with an absorbent cloth.

Step 3: Apply Stain Remover

Apply a pet-safe or oxy-based stain remover to the area and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Use an old toothbrush to work the stain remover into the fibers. Be careful not to scrub too harshly, as this may damage fabric.

Step 4: Rinse

Rinse the pillow with clean, cold water. Blot away excess moisture. If the stain is still present, repeat steps 2-4 as needed.

Step 5: Dry

Place the pillow in sun or near a heater to dry. Make sure to turn the pillow every few hours to ensure even drying.

Additional Tips

  • Always be sure to test any cleaning solution on a small, hidden area of the pillow first.
  • If stain persists, consider having the pillow professionally cleaned.
  • Clean the area where the stain occurred regularly to prevent future accidents.
