Pet accidents are never pleasant, but especially when they occur on your favorite piece of lingerie. Whether it be wet stains or waste, getting pet stains out of panties can be a daunting task. Thankfully, there are steps that you can take to make sure your panties are looking their best. Here’s what to do when a pet stain finds its way onto your panties.
Before you begin the cleaning process, you want to make sure the stain doesn’t get any worse. Gently blot the stained area with a rag or cloth to absorb as much moisture as possible - being careful not to rub the area, which could cause the stain to set.
This step requires some special attention to make sure your panties turn out their best. Use a pre-treating detergent or spray that is designed to work with delicate fabrics, then lightly spray or dab the clean cloth directly onto stain. Again, be sure to avoid rubbing the stained area as vigorously scrubbing can cause the stain to set.
Once you have pre-treated the stained area, put the panties in the washing machine using a delicate cycle and cold water. Do not add any other clothing to the washer as this could cause further staining. Be sure to use only a mild detergent - strong cleaning agents can make the stain worse.
When the washing cycle is complete, hang dry laundry on a clothesline. Avoid placing the panties in the dryer as heat can cause stain to set.
