Step 1: Blot the Stain with a Clean Cloth

The first step in cleaning pet stains from Oxfords is to blot the stain with a clean cloth. Use a clean, damp cloth to absorb as much of the liquid or mess as possible. Do not scrub the stain – simply press and blot the area. Repeat this process until the stain is removed or until no more liquid is being absorbed into the cloth.

Step 2: Apply a Stain Remover or Detergent

Once you have blotted the stain, the next step is to apply a stain remover or detergent. Make sure to use a product designed for leather surfaces. Spray or dab the product onto the stain and let it sit for several minutes. Then, take a clean cloth and gently scrub the area until the stain is gone. To protect leather, do not use any brushes, scouring pads, or abrasives.

Step 3: Rinse with Water and Dry

Once the stain is removed, rinse the area with lukewarm water. Be sure to not submerge the shoe in water – just lightly rinse the surface. After rinsing, blot the area with a clean cloth or paper towels and allow area to air dry. Once the shoe is completely dry, apply a leather conditioner to protect the leather surface.
