What You'll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Borax powder
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Cloth or sponge

Step 1: Pre-treat Stains

To start, pre-treat the stains on overalls by applying a mixture of laundry detergent, white vinegar and borax powder. Mix 1/4 cup of laundry detergent with 1/4 cup of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of borax powder and then apply the mixture to the stain. Let this sit for at least 30 minutes before proceeding to next step.

Step 2: Rinse

Once the pre-treatment has been applied, rinse the overalls in cold water. If possible, use a laundry brush to scrub the stained area to help release any residue or stuck-on dirt.

Step 3: Wash

Now, wash the overalls in the machine using the coldest water setting. To get the best results, add 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide to the machine's load. Allow the overalls to go through entire cycle before proceeding to the drying process.

Step 4: Dry

Finally, dry overalls either in the machine or hang them out to dry. It's important not to use any heat when drying, as this could set the stain. Once overalls are completely dry, inspect them for any remaining stains. If there are still traces of the stain, repeat the steps above until it is completely gone.

Conclusion

With just a few simple steps, you can easily clean pet stains from your overalls and have them looking good as new!
