Step 1: Blot Up Excess Moisture

If the pet stain is still wet, use a few paper towels or clean towels to soak up the excess moisture. Try not to rub too hard as stain may spread.

Step 2: Make a Cleaning Solution

Mix together 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts warm water. This will help disinfect the mattress and break down the stain.

Step 3: Apply Solution With A Brush

Using a damp cloth, gently blot cleaning solution onto the stain and leave for 10 minutes. Then use a soft-bristled brush to lightly scrub the area in a circular motion. Rinse the area with a damp cloth.

Step 4: Remove Odors with Baking Soda

Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over stained area. Baking soda helps to absorb any remaining odors left by the pet stain. Leave on overnight then vacuum baking soda off next day.

Step 5: Dry the Mattress

Blot up any excess liquid with a dry cloth and let the area air dry for at least 12 hours. Avoid using a heat source such as a hairdryer as this could damage the mattress.
