The first step is to blot the spot with a paper towel or cloth. Do not rub spot. Instead, press firmly against it to absorb the residue and the moisture. If necessary, you can use a damp cloth for tougher stains.
Next, pre-treat spot with a gentle detergent. Use liquid or powdered detergent, as opposed to a laundry bar. Rub the detergent into the spot using your fingers or a soft brush. Make sure to work the detergent lightly into the fabric, then rinse with clean water.
After pre-treating the stain, put the jeans in the washing machine. Set the water temperature according to care label and wash jeans with a mild detergent. Afterward, let jeans air dry, rather than placing them in the dryer.
If the stain persists after laundering, you can apply a stain remover directly to the spot. Let it sit for a few minutes before blotting it with a damp cloth and then air drying the jeans.
If the stain is still present after these steps, repeat the washing and drying process—but this time, add a bleach-free oxygen cleaner to the washing cycle.
Cleaning pet stains from Levis jeans is easy if you know the right steps. Sure, it may take a few tries, but with patience and persistence, your favorite jeans will look good as new!
