Materials You'll Need
- White Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Oxygen-Based Stain Remover
- Laundry Detergent
- Wash Cloth or Brush
Step-by-Step Instructions
- If the stain is fresh, try using a cloth or brush to remove as much of the stain as possible.
- Mix two tablespoons of white vinegar with two tablespoons of baking soda and add to one cup of lukewarm water. Use a washcloth to apply the solution to the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Rinse with lukewarm water and air dry.
- If the stain remains, use an oxygen-based stain remover on the spot and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes before laundering with regular laundry detergent.
- Air dry the jacket and inspect for any remaining spots.
Tips & Tricks
- For tough stains, try using a wet/dry vacuum to help remove the stain.
- For fabric lined jackets, be sure to use cold water only, as warm water may cause the dye in the fabric to run.
- If you have an oil-based stain, like grease or wax, use a specially formulated oil-removing solution.
