As soon as you spot stain, be sure to remove the hoodie from affected area. Then, launder the hoodie on a cold cycle in the washing machine as quickly as possible. This will help get rid of any residual dirt and bacteria that can cause staining if left untreated.
Before laundering hoodie, apply a pre-treater to the stain. You can use a commercial stain remover or make your own. A combination of warm water, dish soap, and white vinegar works well. Using a soft cloth or brush, scrub the pre-treatment onto the stained area. Let solution sit for at least 10 minutes before laundering.
Place the hoodie in the washing machine on a cold cycle. Use mild laundry detergent and add some oxygen bleach for an added boost of stain-fighting power. Make sure the detergent and bleach are completely dissolved in the water before adding the hoodie. Run the cycle as normal.
Once cycle is finished, remove the hoodie from the machine and hang it up to air dry. Avoid using a dryer, as this can set the stain into the fabric, making it harder to remove. Once the hoodie has been dried, inspect the fabric for any remaining stains. If stain persists, repeat the steps above.
Removing pet stains from your hoodie doesn't have to be a difficult task. With a few simple steps, you can get rid of unsightly stains and keep your garment looking like new!
