Taking care of spills and pet stains on your Hermes is essential to maintaining the quality and luxury of the piece. While some methods are better than others, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to clean pet stains from Hermes quickly and easily.
Before you get started, make sure you have the right supplies. You’ll need a mild detergent, some warm water, a clean rag, and an absorbent cloth or sponge.
As soon as the stain appears, start blotting the area with a clean cloth. Do not rub or scrub the fabric, as this could cause permanent damage. For tough stains, you may need to add a small amount of detergent to the cloth before dabbing at the stain.
Once you’ve blotted as much of stain as possible, you can move on to step three: applying detergent. Mix a tablespoon of detergent with two cups of warm water, and pour the mixture onto the stained area. Then, using a clean rag, gently blot at the stain until it starts to lift.
Once you’ve blotted out as much of the stain as possible, rinse the area with clean water. Then, using an absorbent cloth or sponge, blot away any remaining moisture. Finally, allow to air dry, or use a blow dryer on the lowest setting to speed up the process.
For particularly stubborn stains, you may need to repeat steps three and four a few times before the stain comes out completely. Be sure to check the fabric between cleaning sessions, and discontinue if there is any sign of damage.
By following these five simple steps, you can easily remove pet stains from your Hermes and have it looking as good as new!
