Mix together two cups of warm water and ¼ cup of white vinegar in a small bowl. Place your stained headband into the mixture and make sure that it’s completely submerged. Let the headband soak for at least an hour. This will help to remove odors as well as some of stain.
Once the headband has had a chance to soak, add a few drops of liquid laundry detergent to the mixture. Give the headband a bit of a swirl or stir in the solution to make sure that the detergent is distributed evenly. Keep the headband in mixture for another hour before taking it out.
Rinse the headband with warm water until all of the soap has been washed away. Lay the headband flat to air dry – do not put it in the dryer. Check the headband after it’s dried to see if stain has been removed. If there’s still a stain remaining, repeat steps one and two until the stain is gone.
Cleaning up pet stains on your favorite headband doesn't have to be a hassle. With a few simple ingredients and some time, you can get your headbands looking like new again in no time.
