Removing pet stains from hats requires a few basic ingredients that you probably have at home. Gather up a small bowl, some laundry detergent, white vinegar, and lukewarm water. You'll need a sponge or soft brush as well.
Instructions
- Start by freeing your hat of any loose dirt and debris. Use a soft brush to gently brush away any crumbs, pet hair, or other dirt.
- Mix together equal parts laundry detergent and vinegar in the small bowl. Add in 2-3 tablespoons of lukewarm water, mixing everything together until you have a thick paste.
- Using your sponge, apply the paste to the stained area and work it in with gentle circular motions. Take care not to rub too hard so you don't damage the fabric.
- Once the paste has been applied to the stain, leave it for 10-15 minutes to allow the ingredients to do their work.
- Rinse off the paste using cold water, then let the hat air dry.
- Once your hat is dry, take a look to see if the stain has been removed. If the stain remains, repeat the process until it is gone.
Tips
- Always use lukewarm water when cleaning pet stains, as hot water can cause the stain to set into the fabric.
- If the stain is really stubborn, you can try soaking hat in warm water and laundry detergent for an hour before repeating process.
