Step 1: Blot Stain with Cold Water

Using a paper towel or rag, blot the area with cold water. Blot gently so that the water doesn’t spread the stain further.

Step 2: Make a Cleaning Solution

Mix 1 teaspoon of a gentle detergent with 1 cup of cold water. Test this solution on an inconspicuous part of fabric before applying to the stained area.

Step 3: Apply the Solution to the Stain

Using a cloth or sponge, apply the cleaning solution to the stained area. Avoid rubbing fabric as this may cause damage.

Step 4: Rinse the Fabric

Rinse the fabric with cold water, making sure to remove all the cleaning solution. Keeping it damp, hang the fabric in a well-ventilated area so that it can air dry.

Step 5: Iron the Fabric

Once completely dry, iron fabric on a low setting. Do not use steam when ironing Guipure lace.
