If you’ve ever had to deal with pet stains on your fabric, you know that it can be a pain. Gingham is a particularly tricky fabric to clean due to its criss-cross, checkered pattern. The good news is that removing pet stains from gingham fabric is doable. Here’s how to do it.
First, you’ll need to blot the stain. Soak up as much liquid as possible using an absorbent cloth. Don’t scrub or rub, as this could cause the stain to spread.
Next, pretreat the stain with laundry detergent. Use a small amount of detergent, dampen it with water, and rub it into stain gently.
Rinse garment in cold water several times to remove the detergent.
If the stain is still visible, re-soak the garment in cold water. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes, then rinse well and repeat if necessary.
Once the stain is gone, wash the item on a cold, gentle cycle with like colors.
Finally, hang your item to dry or lay it flat. Do not put it in dryer until you are sure the stain is gone.
With these steps, you should be able to get the pet stain out of your gingham fabric. Enjoy!
