The first step in removing pet stains from your formalwear is to blot the stain with a paper towel or fabric cloth. You want to blot up as much liquid as possible without rubbing it into the fabric. Rubbing can push the stain further into fabric and make it more difficult to remove.
Once you have blotted away as much liquid as possible, you will need to create a cleaning solution that is suitable for your specific type of fabric. The best way to do this is to mix together equal parts water, white vinegar, and mild detergent.
Once you have created cleaning solution, use a clean cloth to gently dab the solution onto the stain. You want to completely saturate the area, but not to point where it is dripping. Allow the solution to sit for at least 10 minutes before attempting to blot or rinse it away.
After allowing the solution to sit, use a clean cloth to gently blot away any remaining residue. If necessary, you can repeat the process of applying the solution and blotting it away until the stain is no longer visible.
Once you have removed the stain, use a clean cloth to gently dab area dry. Make sure not to rub the area too hard, as this could cause the stain to spread again.
Once you have dabbed the area dry, allow the clothing item to air dry completely. Once the item is dry, check to make sure the stain is gone. If the stain is still visible, repeat the steps from Step 3 until the stain has been removed.
